Of course, our kids are geniuses and I can say that because this is my blog. I truly believe MHM is picking up the sign language. A few months ago, I know he was using the sign for MILK but not as much as big sis E did at his age. I have been using the signs for MORE, EAT, FISH, DAD, MOM and some others. Well, It has to be more than coincidence that I often catch him with his thumb to forehead with fingers pointed out... Kind of like when they say the baby is just GASSY as it smiles at you early as an infant. It could just be that he likes to do this with his hands???? BRILLIANT I tell you!
Concerned for his future, I will write this and see what M has to say about it. MHM is showing signs of being a South Paw. I know there are probably several smart South Paws but I am not sure we shouldn't do an early intervention for him and change the course of his life. South Paws have a natural handicap to the world as the majority of implements, tools and just about everything else is built for us normal people.
All kidding aside, As I have been feeding him snacks (puffs and raisins) lately, I have placed something in his left hand in order to make him to use his right hand. I have observed him to try to place the item in his mouth, fail, then transfer it to his left hand and place it with success. I am not sure I am ready to have to explain why the world is stacked against him too soon and hope that this is just a phase he's going through kind of like a gassy smile!

Yup. I've seen the same thing. Funny, but I found online that my "clan" (the Kerrs) have a high incidence of left-handedness. Sorry.
